How did you get into music?

There was always music playing in the background growing up — but the moment I knew I wanted to be a singer was when I saw a Robert Palmer music video on TV. After school, I worked at an independent record label to learn how the industry really worked. I took singing lessons, started recording covers, and uploaded them to YouTube. My big break came when Britney Spears’ team featured my cover of Gimme More on her official site. That attention opened a lot of doors — and soon after, I was approached by an A&R scout and released my debut album Overload in 2013.

How would you describe your music?

I’d say it’s alt-pop with a strong 80s influence — dark, cinematic, and a little nostalgic. Think of something you’d hear on a Netflix show. Funnily enough, the producer of my latest record Dark Horse actually worked on the Riverdale soundtrack, which pretty much sums up the vibe.

You’ve just released a book called The Introverted Exhibitionist. What inspired it?

It’s something I’ve wanted to do for years. I’ve always loved photography and fitness — but for a long time, I didn’t have the confidence. I was painfully shy and struggled with how I saw myself. Over the past couple of years, I’ve done a lot of introspection and realized my body image issues came from deeper experiences and traumas. Writing about it helped me make peace with that. I decided to include the photos I once thought weren’t “good enough,” as a way of reclaiming them. The book became a healing project — a reminder that even if someone looks confident on the outside, it doesn’t always reflect how they feel on the inside.

In the book you talk about body dysmorphia and bullying. How hard was it to open up about that?

Honestly, it was really hard. Digging up those memories was triggering — but also necessary. I didn’t include every detail because I didn’t want the book to dwell in darkness. My goal was to help others see the light at the end of it. At first, I felt embarrassed sharing such personal thoughts, but I realized vulnerability is what connects us. If it helps even one person speak a little kinder to themselves, it’s worth it.

Where can people get the book?

It’s available exclusively in print through Blurb. You can get your copy here:  https://www.blurb.co.uk/b/12520845-the-introverted-exhibitionist

What are your plans for 2026?

2026 is going to be massive. I’m working on some exciting new projects that I can’t talk about just yet — but I’ll be touring the UK with The Marquee Club All Star Band, and I’m also back in the studio working on new music that I’m incredibly proud of. It’s some of my best work yet.
